At the 11th of February of 2018, in Annual General Meeting, The Wardens and Church Council of St Stephen’s, Middlesbrough elected the Reverend Jonatas Bragatto to be their Minister. The invitation follows three visits to the Church, on two of which he preached.

St Stephen’s Church was founded in 1908 and the buildings on Woodfield Road were the centre of a flourishing Christian community. In 2017, following the discovery of structural faults, the Church building and hall were sold.

The congregation is currently worshipping in the John Paul II Centre in Middlesbrough (Grange Road 55, TS1 5AU). They are looking forward to working with Jonatas to reach out with the Gospel and to build God’s Church.

It is exciting times for the Northern Diocese of the Free Church of England; churches are being revitalise and there are many plans for church plant in the north of England.
