Stuart Parker (Group Lead Volunteer) writes:
Today we came together for a very special celebration service at St George’s Church, marking 40 years of Scouting and Guiding in our community. It was a joyful occasion filled with pride, reflection, and gratitude.
We began by renewing our Scout and Guide promises—an uplifting reminder of the values that continue to guide us. We gave heartfelt thanks to our founding leaders, whose vision and commitment laid the foundations for all we’ve achieved over the past four decades.
A touching moment came as we honoured Joan Ball with a bouquet of flowers, thanking her for her many years of dedicated service to the Brownies as she enters retirement. Her impact has been truly immeasurable.
We also celebrated achievements within our current community:
Brooklyn received the prestigious Chief Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Scouts—an amazing accomplishment!
Lee Arrandale was recognised for his continued dedication with a 15-Year Service Award—a huge thank you for your ongoing leadership and support.
The morning concluded with a fantastic buffet, where founder members, current leaders, and young people shared memories, laughter, and food together.
Here’s to 40 years of friendship, growth, and adventure—and to many more to come!
