Ordination of Andrew Ormond


On Sunday, 24th November, St Andrew’s Church, Bentley, was the setting for a momentous occasion as Andrew Ormond was ordained as a deacon to serve at St Jude’s Church, Balham. The ceremony, attended by over 50 people, brought together members of the Southern Diocese and visitors from afar.

The service was conducted by Bishop Paul Hunt, Bishop of the Southern Diocese, with support from The Revd’s Mark Spiers, Robert Wilson, Mark Gretason, the FCE General Secretary, Dr Bob Stephen, and Henry Birtley.

The event was marked by a spirit of joy and unity, as those present witnessed this significant step in Andrew Ormond’s ministry. Following the service, attendees gathered for light refreshments and food, providing an opportunity to celebrate and offer their congratulations.

The ordination highlights the continuing growth and commitment of the Free Church of England and we pray for Revd Andrew as he starts his journey as a deacon in the Southern Diocese. See pictures of the special service below:
