Southern Diocese Synod

It is a joy to meet together in Christ

The Southern Diocese of the Free Church of England met as a synod. Bishop Paul gave a report on his ministry since the last synod. Encouraging reports on finances, current churches and upcoming plans to plant were shared. Laity and clergy were elected to the various teams that support the diocese’s work. Plenty of excellent food was served before and after the business meeting. Edifying prayers and readings were brought by Rev’d Mark Spiers. A number of visitors were present to show support for the FCE.

Bishop Paul wrote in The Weekly News, “We had an early start yesterday to get to Christ Church, Harlesden for a lovely lunch, including a very tasty chicken curry and buffet. The Synod followed, beginning with a devotional service led by Revd Mark. St Andrew’s was also represented by Deanne, Mary and Mike. It was good to see so many new faces there and to hear the reports from churches around the diocese. The Lord is moving the FCE in a way not seen before. There is much to pray about and much work to be done, but the Holy Spirit is moving amongst us. Praise the Lord!”
