The Free Church of England is a Christian church in the Anglican tradition and so rooted in a Reformed Catholic heritage. The FCE embodies the evangelical principles of Anglicanism and stands firmly within “the faith once delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). As a branch of the Holy Catholic Church led by the Holy Spirit, the FCE is focused on living out Christ’s Great Commission to go and make disciples in England and around the globe. We invite you to learn more about our Church family.
What We Believe
We are a church family committed to the authority of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. In keeping with the historic Anglican formularies, we believe all doctrines should and must be judged by the teaching of Scripture.
The Free Church of England is a church centered on the unique Gospel of Jesus Christ, focussed on mission and evangelism, grounded in historic Christian faith, and organised so that our congregations are pastored and resourced for God’s glory.
“The doctrine of the Free Church of England is founded in the Holy Scriptures and, following the example of the Reformers, in such teachings of the ancient Fathers and Councils of the Church as are agreeable to the said Scriptures. In particular such doctrine is to be found in the Declaration of Principles, the ThirtyNine Articles of Religion, and the authorised liturgies of this Church” (Article II of the Constitution).
