Convocation – Day 1

As the first day of Convocation drew to a close, clergy and delegates gathered for an afternoon of important business and an evening of worship and reflection.

The afternoon session marked the beginning of formal Convocation business, chaired by the Bishop Primus, assisted by the General Secretary. Discussions and reports were received as members met together to consider matters concerning the life and witness of the Church.

The day concluded with a reverent service of Evening Prayer during which the Bishop Primus delivered his Charge to Convocation, offering encouragement, reflection, and direction for the days ahead.

During the service, two honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees were conferred by The Most Rev’d Dr. John Sathyakumar. The Right Rev’d Matthew Firth and the Rev’d Canon Mark Spiers were presented with the awards in recognition of their faithful ministry and service to the Church.
