Harvest at St George’s

St George’s Church in Blackburn recently celebrated Harvest with a wonderful display of community spirit, creativity and generosity.

The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with contributions from the Rainbows, Brownies and Cubs, alongside the lovely floral arrangements prepared by the church’s dedicated team of flower arrangers.

Following the Harvest service, the church held a Messy Church session, where children enjoyed a range of Harvest-themed activities and crafts. The morning concluded with a hearty lunch of cottage pie, bringing everyone together in fellowship.

As part of the celebrations, the congregation collected non-perishable food items to support the local community. The donations were delivered to the foodbank in Mill Hill, run by the Billy Project charity, helping to support those in need.

Pictured delivering the donations are Marlene, Church Warden, and Janet.

St George’s Harvest celebrations were a wonderful reminder of the importance of giving thanks for God’s provision and sharing generously with others, particularly those in our local communities.
